the Sign
in medicine, signs are supposed to be objective parameters that a doctor reveal that allows him/her to make a diagnosis in addition to the subjective symptoms that the patient complain of.
however, even the best doctors in this world is human. it’s not easy to exclude personal subjective opinion when judging a valid signs. sometimes, we look for what we want to see, or rather choose to see ONLy what we wanna see, while neglecting some other obvious objective signs due to subjective first impressions. what’s worst, we start to "see" what is not there…all that to direct and convince us that our diagnosis is right.
in life, there are many "signs" too.it’s hard to explain but, whenever i’m about to do something wrong, i’ll have that strong instinct to stop me from doing it. thus, i’ll know that it’s a mistake everytime i make it before the results of my actions show, manifesting itself as bad luck for several days, bad mood, and sense of guilt. more obvious signs is that everytime before i do something that i know is wrong, there will be someone around, or something that is interrupting, as if trying to stop me from that mistake. but very often, when we are filled with emotions (anger, for example), we are often blinded, not seeing some obvious signs. thus, mistakes tend to happen when we are too emotional ( too anxious, and joyful even)
i dunno about other sports but i play have been playing badminton for a long time. for some reason whenever i my racquet hits the shuttlecock, that very moment, even before it reaches the other half of the court, i know that i’m gonna pawn the opponent….or visa versa.i’m sure those proffesional basketball players will have the same experience too, as in they’ll know if the ball would enter the loop the moment it leaves their hands….this type of feeling is transient, for a period of less than a second. but once u catch it, u’ll know the next time you are doing something right, that convince u move on.
the same goes with exam. everytime when i finish writting my theoritical answers, even before presenting to the teacher, i can predict the outcome of the exam. it’s that feeling that give u the urge and eager to speak, unloading everything there is in your mind. otherwise if it’s a negative sign, you will have the feeling that u are forgetting something, the sense that something is wrong, but u just can’t tell….
some may think that it’s a sign from God. well, i would like to think so too. coz it’s too amazing if it’s pure coincidence, hitting the jackpot every single time.
but as i’ve said, signs are just signs, even it’s from God. it’s up to us whether to take it or not. if you choose to neglect it, then it’ll just be another feeling, or another event happening around you.
what is interesting is that u see "signs" that are not there, objectively. it’s because you choose to believe it’s there that it’s there.you fabricate your believes based on these "signs" you see.( which might be what i’m doing now), and you give the credit to a higher power for that. and well, i cannot give further comment, because no one knows which signs are objective and which are not there. but for me it’s better to believe in something than nothing….even if it means seeing what is not there ( someone called it "faith", as far as i remembered)
not long ago, someone told me that "to worry is not to have faith in God"….well, i totally agree with that.but back to the very basic question, we are just waiting for "signs" of what God has planned for us. but how sure are u that u are wise enough to understand what "signs" He had sent to you, or did you just neglect the "signs" He gave just a moment ago….you have faith, but do you "see"?
who knows, He might be jumping up and down now with anger that these moronic human do not understand whichever "signs" he is giving, which leads to a series of disaster….
