Filed under: Uncategorized — khailip at 12:37 pm on Friday, April 20, 2007

above is the description of "jia yi shen gong" taken from "the twin hero" by gu long which i like so much.

in short, it’s a kung fu which consist of 9 levels, each level being more difficult to accomplish than the previous ones. when one manage to reach 6th,7th level, the power accumulated in the body would be too strong that it is very unbarable….the burning sensation would remain in the body. the energy is not only useless, but torturing for the person who is learning this kung fu.thus, the only way is to give away the power to other people, like "making a wedding gaun for other people", thus the word "嫁衣"

a small secret to this kung fu is that once the person reach the 6th level, he should destroy all the power that is accumulated in his body, demolish every single bit of whatever that he had learnt and start all over again.

but the second time a person train with this kung fu again, although his aura is as good as 0, the power accumulated would not be affected at all. things will be easier , and less effort is needed to achieve the 6th level again. this helps him with a new breakthrough to the higher levels up to 9th level, when he is practically invincible.

once he reach this level, his aura and power are one with his body, he could control it freely and use it at will. he then exhibits the greatest power feared by all…( well, it’s the only kung fu that could defeat the evil power in the story anyway…)

the same thing could be applied in our life, especially in our studies. although we could be learning very complex things right now, but it’s always useful to remember about the Basics. it is the basics that build the foundation of what we learn now.

whenever we face difficulties in studies/work/life, when we find it hard to progress to the next "level", and it seems that there’s no way u could move forward, why not try starting from the very begining to understand the basics all over again, who knows, the solution might not be as hard as u think….

this study tip is useful, at least for me. despite the fact that u have studied the material needed for exam before, when you are doing revision, TRY TO DELETE WHATEVER YOU HAVE LEARNT IN THE PASS in the brain. start revision assuming that YOU KNOW NOTHING AT ALL. this way, you would be more attentive and more interested in whatever u are reading/studying. trust me, you will find it easier the 2nd time u read it this way. making space in your brain allows more information input into your brain. if u start revision having the thought that you have studied those material before, you would just glance through the pages without having any idea of what u are reading. that defeats the purpose of revision.

after all, it is often what we think we know already that prevents us from learning….

thus, don forget about the basics. it’s never a waste of time to look back on what you think you’ve already know. who knows, you might have new discoveries and enlightenments which you missed the first time you glanced through it….
