i feel like a rat…
they say rats are the ultimate survivor. if u see a rat when u are trapped in a closed dungeon, you will be safe, because the rat will know how to find its way out, not matter what. they are small and irritating, but they would probably be the few species that would survive nuclear warfare.
all and laws and rules has it’s exception and loophole, and i am good at finding them. tell me a set of rules and i would be able to tell you what’s wrong with it within a few minutes…
i guess this is a natural ability you get to developed being a typical malaysian chinese..
don’t getting me wrong. finding the weakness of rules and regulation doesn’t mean i would break them, but rather to show that there’s a chance that someone would without being caught breaking them….after all, a rule is only considered broken if there’s someone who finds out, no?
for example, the transport system in italy practices honour system, meaning you buy a ticket and punch it on the bus, no conductor or bus driver will bother you watsoever. so as long as you do not punch them, the ticket will still be valid. as you know, euro is very expensive for non european. thus, for an honest person to spend 1 euro for each trip of bus would be rather expensive and irrelavent. it’s more practical to buy a ticket for precaution, and punch them when somebody checks…..although it’s not honest and ethichal…it’s a very good way to cut cost.
well, let’s talk about buffet in russia then. there are oni several restaurant here in nizhny novgorod who pracitces buffet…esp after they know there are a few malaysians who are "iao kui" like myself. unlike in malaysia, they apply strict rules to their buffet. they have different kind of buffet system, one of them which is economical ones… which given the natural ability to squeeze as much profit as possible given the chance, i managed to make them regret having the buffet system. the rule is like this: you could take as much as you want, but you could oni take once using the plate given. they thought they could save alot. but i managed to build mountains on the given plate anyway…
there was another buffet system in an arabic restaurant which is quite expensive. they had a buffet for dessert. 2 variants are available, one for 2 person, and the other for the whole company, meaning all that is present can eat. well, the problem is, they did not specify how many people can eat. so if u go in a large company, more untung lo….and since it’s dry, you could actually ta pao….hahaha….lack of table manners you might say, but serves them right for bad service and refusing to top up the finished buffet food…
my point is, every law and rules has a hole. i am the kind of person who doesn’t like to be bounded by regulations, thus i would instictively try to find a hole to it, and escape without breaking the ruels…sort of like rats…
and rules without punishment and supervision is as good as no rules for a malaysian (no offence)…
it’s not a bad thing actually. shows that human are able to think and stand on their own feet and not only be guided or controlled like a puppet….and it also tells the people who make this law that they need to work harder to make this world a more peaceful and systematic place to live in…
well, i guess the expression "rules are meant to be broken" does have a literal meaning , huh??
