expect misfortune, and it won’t come….
life is often unexpected. for me, things always turn out to be the opposite of what i’ve expected. there was a period in my life that i dare not hope for good things to happen to me, fearing that it will never come…
maybe it’s the universal law, or maybe it’s just me, things just almost always do not turn out as planned….as if fate is playing game with us…able to read our mind and make what we want to turn out totally opposite of what we have in mind…
so, i came out with an idea. whenever i want something good, i would expect it to be very very bad….so that the outcome would turn out to be what i wanted initially….hopefully…
they say malang tidak berbau, literally meaning that misfortunes always hit us unexpectedly…
but what if we expect the misfortune??would it still come to us??
in fact if we expect things to turn out very very bad…..the chances of it hitting on us will significantly decrease…as our awareness of the misfortune is increase, and we would instinctively avoid it…or at least try to do so…we are more sensitive to our surrounding and would be more careful.
thus, to prevent, or at least decrease the chance of misfortune, always be aware of the surrounding…never fully let down your defence, as you won’t know when it would hit you….
although to some it’s not so proper to think negatively all the time…it does, to some extend help us to preper ourself to fight or flight…it’s like a rubber band, we should keep it at a proper tension all the time, so it would neither snap nor be too flaccid(???)
afterall, life is unfair. fate can read our mind, but we can’t read its mind…
fate likes to hit people unexpectedly….it doesn’t like it’s plan to be realised….because once it’s being realised, that would loose the whole point of "misfortune"….
so expecting the misfortune is one way of gambling with fate….hoping that it won’t come…
but fate will always have the advantage….as it has nothing to loose, while we have everything else to loose…..
