a story of a sifu and his 2 apprentices
there’s was a sifu long long time ago in far away land who lived in a deep mountain, isolated from the corrupted society……he possessed great knowledges about the world, perhaps the most knowledgable living being even known. he did not want all his knowledges to go down to drain when he dies. so he decided to find a few apprentice he thinks is trustworthy pass down his knowledges…
he managed to recruit 2 tou dai….1 who is extremely talented, the other one stupid, but arrogant…and has the word " i am always right" written on his forehead…
the sifu has written down the essence of all his knowledges into a scroll, and called it "the key" (wait that’s a stuid name…but what he heck, it’s my story….)
the scroll encompassed the basic principle how a man should lead his life….so that his life would be successful till he dies…there were a few principles to be followed, basic moral and ethichal values, the undisputed rule of life…etc..
so as would be expected, the smart apprentice( the real smart and talented one…) has recieved all his knowledge and lead a successful life…and he passed down the knowledge to his future generations….but it would be boring if i elaborated on how successful his life is….and i’m sure u are more interesed in what happened to the stupid apprentice…
well, the stupid apprentice… he had got the same scroll as the talented apprentice did… but due to his stupidity…he could not fully understand the essence of his sifu’s knowledge…and he misinterprete most of the part regarding principles of life…..he took one sentence from the holy scroll and inteprete it using his stupid mind….he thought that he had the "self-enlightenment" without consulting his sifu or the other talented apprentice(due to his "i am always right" attitude)….from what he understand, which is obviously NOT what the sifu intend to teach, he made that as his golden rule of life…
before both of them leave the deep mountain to go back to the society, the sifu told both of them that the principle of life is not constant because as the time changes, people change….and evolution will occur someday..and the scroll he gave would be useless unless the person holding it is flexible enough to observe and suit it with their life…although some principles will remained undisputed…
after both of them were back in their society….they started to spread the teachings to their society…
both of them became famous in no time after the people know that they are the only 2 apprentice of the "know-it-all" sifu…. and they managed to recruit their own followers….lots of them….and became the 2 largest puak in the whole community
but what they( the people) don’t know is that the difference of interlectual level of both of the leaders…
well, obviously with different understanding, their teaching would be different…
the stupid apprentice, as i’ve said just now, like to quote a small sentence from his sifu’s holy scroll and elaborate it based on what his shallow mind could understand without understanding the whole essence of his teaching…and thus the teaching deviate alot from the original teaching…
but due to "i’m always right" attitude, he was confident with his stupidity and wrote another version of his scroll, called " the REAL key"…(hahaha…another lame name…)
he was so convinced that his teaching surpassed his sifu that he burnt the original scroll that the sifu gave him and continue living with the scroll the he wrote…
then to distinct himself from another talented apprentice, he set rules that no one from his puak can mix around with the other puak, what more convert into other puak….( i guess that’s to keep his reputation, preventing other people to find out about his stupidity)….
he often make critical remarks on other puak based on so called the "teaching" of his sifu…he often critisize the talented apprentice on how they do not follow the "goldren rule"…..and how he forget what the sifu teached….when it was really his fault of not understanding the true meaning of the teaching…
he like to boast around, saying that he’s his sifu’s favourite apprentice, and he knew about all the principle of life….based on the teaching….and everyone should follow him….and not the other talented apprentice’s teaching….which he claimed deviate from the real teaching…( that’s the common sign of stupid people)
one day, he faced difficulty following the "golden principle"….he needed to get rid of somebody who is on his way to success…thus, he made an excuss saying that the sifu mentioned that rules changed in time…and he killed that person….and said it was alright…according to his teaching….he even modified what he wrote in his version of scroll, and made some remarks on how under certain condition a person could kill another person……most of which suits his condition to get rid of those he didn’t like….he made it sounded so convincing that his stupid followers too, were convinced that he’s right…( in the original scroll, it was written that under no condition a man could take a life of another man….)
this means that the golden rule is only valid if it’s benificial to him….
stupid people produce stuid generations…..his further generations were equally stupid (thus proving genetic is a deadly disease)..and did the same mistake as the stupid apprentice.and thus the teaching deviate alot from the original one……
the sifu should not be in this world by now….but i wonder, if he knew that he would do so much harm to the humanity by producing such stupid apprentice….would he rather die than to pass down the knowledge to him??
could u say that the teaching of the sifu is wrong?? of course not….it’s the stupidity of the apprentice which misinteprete it and keep thinking that he’s always right is what making things go sooo wrong…when things does not go right…people would always blame the teaching, rather than blaming the genealogy of the true problem…the people who learn the teaching itself….as the chinese saying goes: rotten wood cannot be carved…. people who is stupid in nature cannot be teached to be smart….esp when he doesn’t realise his stupidity…(gosh….the word "stupid" has became my favourite vocabulary nowadays….i should really stop this…)
end of story….
