on Dostoevsky’s philosophy….
he’s a famous writter in russia..the main task in his novel is to investigate the psychology of people and to eleborate the universal characteristics of spritual and intellectual…
he believed the ability of huiman to love and to feel compassion.
but he also emphasized on the contradiction in the human nature.
" A man combines both good and evil in himself. in some situations, he may behave like God. In some, he may behave like animals"
i belive there is some truth in his philosophy.
when we were younger, we were taught how to differentiate between good people and evil people..when we watch movies, we tend to devide the characters into "good people" and "bad people" based on aposteriori condition of our experience and previous exposure…
but i don’t think this classification of people into good and evil people is correct….
in fact, there’s not clear cut between good and evil in reality.an individual possesses both good and evil in himself….and what seemed to be good to one may be totally opposite in others..
good and evil exist in one and it’s inseperable. there is no abosolute "good" or "evil" people..it only depends on how you exhibit them…
but there IS a difference. Those classified as "good" people are more socially intellegent, and those that are seen as "bad" people, on the other hand, are stupid.
one is classifies "good" when he/she exhibits more actions that is socially acceptable and hide very well those action that is "bad"…
on the contray, "bad" people are classified so because they are stupid enough to show all those "bad" action that is done by all human, both good and evil in the public…
they might reveal their socially unacceptable actions unintentionally, but still they deserved to be classified so, not because of what wrongs they did, but because of their failure to covering them up…for example..hypocrites are named so because of their failure to cover up their lies on both side…if they were to do it nicely, they will still be considered as "good" people…
what is worse is that those people who do things with no conscious of hiding it…doing those "bad" things as if they were bornt to do so…they are not aware of current situation, of which side of good or evil is predominating now….
these people should be executed/punished for their stupidity….
