jack and siti
jack and siti are classmates.
one day jack ajak the whole class to eat outside.
the other classmates ask jack to order food for them….saving the trouble of beratur-ing…
jack ordered a beef set lunch for himself….and asked the other classmates what they want…
"fish set lunch" said ali.
"give me a chicken set lunch" said julie.
"i want fish too", said siti.
so jack ordered for all of them….
they eat happily….
set lunches comes with an orange juice and salad.
as they are chatting…siti took out her wallet to pay jack…
"emm….let me see the receipt…my fish is $9.80, right, here is $10. give me back $0.20 ok??" siti said.
jack checked the receipt again. the sum of fish, orange juice and salad is $15.
trying to be polite, jack ask siti if she doesn’t want the side dishes….
siti answered firmly "i said i want fish, that’s all"
ali and julie who was there answered for jack : "we asked jack to buy for us set lunches what… we supposed u want the set lunches when u said i want fish too"
siti stood for herself by saying the same thing again.
jack din’t want to make a class outing so awkward, so he said : "it’s ok, i’ll give to the teacher, i believe that she would like the salad"
siti keep quiet for a while….the answered…."i’ll take the salad la…..maybe my roomamate wants it, but i do not want the orange juice."
jack said "fine."……(in the heart can’t help thinking that if i want to give the orange juice to the teacher …u would want the juice too)
—jack was offended because not only his help of doing a good deed for siti was not appriciated, he has to tanggung the consequence of miscommunication between siti and jack.
siti check the reciept again. she said : oh the salad is $2. do you remember last time when we shared to buy the ingredients for the cake, u still haven pay me?? it was $2.1. so u owe me $0.3 la…right??
jack was thinking "wat the hell?? (jack remembered quite well that he paid siti the money, because judging by siti’s character, she wouldn’t stand having ppl owing her money)
jack say"are u sure??" ….showed the reciept to siti….the salad was "$4"…
siti dengan malunya said….oh ya hoh…..so how much i owe you huh??
before jack can answered he continued…."aiya….nvm la….jack belanja me la ok…u are rich right."
jack dunno wat to say….everybody diam……..
of course jack know it’s wouldn’t be pleasant to say no to a lady….so he agreed feeling sorry for this poor girl….
when reaching the hostel where they stay….everybody pay jack for the hearty meal juz now….. siti checked her bag and found that the salad was missing…
siti told jack…"you din take the salad on the table juz now izzit….liddat consider u din belanja me la ok…so u owe me the $0.2 change plus the $3.1 for the cake ok…"
walau eh…..dunno wat jack did in his past life that he has to meet this siti as his classmate…
jack doesn’t mind belanjaing somebody….anybody…but not in this way….as if he is forced to do so…..
jack is not kedekut. he don’t mind the money….is the dignity
somewhere on this earth …..this senario happened…….
and jack learnt his lesson.
